COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & CORPORATE GIVING

ST. JUDE'S CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL

St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. St. Jude has the worlds best survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers, and treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since we opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade.

St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs we make, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Join the St. Jude mission by visiting stjude.org or following St. Jude on facebook.com/stjude and twitter.com/stjude.

CORPORATE PARTNER OF THE THANKS AND GIVING® CAMPAIGN

In 2010, TUMI became a proud corporate partner of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. We contribute most significantly through the efforts and commitment of our retail team through our support of the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign. In 2013, TUMI sponsored the PGA Wives Association Art Party held during the FedEx St. Jude Classic where patients created travel-themed pictures. Additionally, TUMI matches associate contributions to encourage charitable giving on the part of our employees. As a result, TUMI is able support St. Jude in finding cures and saving children.

In 2004, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital invited companies to participate in the Thanks and Giving campaign, an unprecedented union of celebrities, media, retail, and corporate partners, that asks consumers to give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not. The campaign was created by St. Jude National Outreach Director, Marlo Thomas and her siblings Terre and Tony Thomas, children of hospital founder Danny Thomas. TUMI became a proud corporate sponsor of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in 2010. We contribute most significantly through the efforts and commitment our retail team. During the holiday season, our retail associates ask each of their customers to support the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign by donating at the time of purchase either through direct donation or through the purchase of an exclusive Thanks & Giving luggage tag.

TUMI TAKES YOU HOME

In 2011, TUMI introduced the TUMI Takes You Home event where TUMI donates travel cases specially designed for the patients and families at St. Jude to help them travel to and from the hospital for treatment. This year, TUMI will produce a limited-edition collection of custom-made travel cases inspired by the artwork of St. Jude patients for our annual TUMI Takes You Home event.

ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY

WE ARE REDUCING OUR IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT.

TUMI is working to better understand and manage the environmental issues associated with its operations and the operations of its business partners.

TUMI has partnered with Pratt Institute Center for Sustainable Design Studies and Design Incubator for Sustainable Innovation to conduct a life cycle study of a wheeled travel case and a business brief. Based on suggestions from the Pratt Institute, TUMI has made some initial progress in finding alternative material compositions to reduce environmental impact. Additionally, the repair team in Vidalia now works diligently with outside vendors to ensure that all metals, specifically aluminum, are appropriately recycled.
